Aloitimme tänään työt. Pidimme yhteisen päivän avauksen Uuraisten Kelloperällä Johannan luona. Olipa mukava päivä. Käytimme n. 8 tuntia vaihtaen kesän kuulumisia ja kerroimme fiiliksiä millä kukin oli tulossa töihin. Kaksi meistä aloitti tämän kauden Braziliassa, Henna ja Valtteri päivittänee blogia sieltä piakkoin. Lisäksi Janne heitti meille 8 erittäin hyväää kysymystä mitä pohtia huomenna. Halusin kovasti kirjoittaa ne jo tänne tänään, mutta ehkäpä teemme sen Jannen kanssa yhdessä huomenna. Joten, heitän tähän itse suomentamani runon, joka pysäytti minut eilen uuteen työkauteen valmistautuessani. Löysin sen Zengeström-blogista, kiitos Jyri tästä! Alkuperäisen ilmeisestikin Bessie Stanleyn / R.W.Emersonin runon voi tsekata enkkupuoleltamme klikkaamalla sivun yläreunassa olevaa amerikan lippua.

Nauraa usein ja paljon.
Voittaa viisaiden kunnioitus ja lasten kiinnostus.
Ansaita rehellisten kriitikkojen arvostus ja kestää väärien ystävien petokset.
Arvostaa kauneutta, ja löytää paras toisissa.
Jättää maailma hieman paremmaksi, olkoon se terveen lapsen, pienen puutarhan tai korjatun yhteiskunnallisen tilan muodossa.
Tietää että ainakin yksi elämä on hengittänyt helpommin koska sinä olet elänyt.
Sitä voidaan kutsua menestykseksi.

Here’s the blog text in English:

Today we started our Autumn-season after holidays with my fellow monkeys. Six of us were in Johanna’s place at Watchback of Uurainen, and Henna and Valtteri in Brazil. I suppose we will hear shortly from them as well via this blog. We spent the day by doing an 8 hour check-in, sharing about our summer experiences and feelings that we came back to work. It was a very good day. Janne posed us 8 questions to think about for tomorrow, and I am very eager to share them with you, however you got wait a little bit. Instead, I will share this poem by Bessie Stanleyn / R.W.Emerson which I found at the Zengestrom blog. So thanks Jyri for this! And I find it very timely, as we are ready to get our hands dirty again!

To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people
and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child,
a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.

I wish everyone happy holidays who still got them, and joyful rest of the summer to rest of us who are getting back to work these days.
