Viime vuosina Brasiliassa työskennellessäni olen tajunnut, että työ, joka minua todella motivoi, ei ole vain  jo valmiiksi rikkaiden firmojen statuksen ja kassan kasvattaminen suomalaisen tiimivalmennuksen keinoin. Haaveilin tärkeämmästä työstä. Halusin antaa panokseni sinne, missä ihmisten perustarpeiden täyttäminen ja esimerkiksi paikallisen talouden kehittymisen turvaaminen on välttämätöntä.

Enpä viime joulukuussa tätä ajautusta blogiimme kirjoittaessani osannut aavistaakaan, että juuri toivomani työskentelymahdollisuus avautuu Amazoniassa ensi vuoden alussa! Parán osavaltion rajamailla Amazoniassa mineraaleja jalostava firma Cadam S.A. päätti panostaa tulevaisuuteen ja osti meiltä vuoden pilottiprojektin paikallisen julkisen nollatuloksia tuottavan koulun oppimistulosten parantamiseksi.

Tänään Hub Helsingillä jaamme Brasilia-tiimiin sujuvasti liittyneen Aimen kanssa tarinan unelmasta, josta tulee totta vuonna 2014. Valmistaudumme juuri jakamaan projektiamme paremmin online, ja tässä on ensimmäinen Prezi-esitys, jonka pohjalta pitchaamme projektimme tänään Hubilla Open Accelerator -tapahtumassa.

Olisi mukava kuulla ajatuksiasi mahdollisista tähän projektiin sopivista kontakteista Suomessa tai Brasiliassa. Olemme pohtineet myös, miten tämän ainutlaatuisen vuoden projektin saisi dokumentoitua parhaalla tavalla, ja videointi on jo käynnissä. Jotkut tutkijaryhmät ovat lähestyneet meitä analysoidakseen pilottimme tuloksia tutkimuksissaan, ja se on tietysti todella hyvä juttu. Mitä muita dokumentointityökaluja voisimme käyttää?

Working in Brazil during the last years I have realized that the work that really motivates me isn’t just supporting the already rich people of the capitals with the Finnish team coaching methods. I created a dream of a more meaningful work. I wanted to direct my energy to where fullfilling the basic needs of the people and for example securing the local economical growth is a priority.

I didn’t guess the possibility to make this dream come true would be opening up so fast after I wrote about this thought in to our blog last christmas. In Pará, on the boarder lands of Amazonia, there is a minerals company called Cadam S.A. that decided to invest to the future of the region by sponsoring a pilot project for developing the learning results at the local school.

Today at Hub Helsinki together with Aime who has naturally entered the Brazil team of MB we will share the story of this dream coming true. Here below is the first Prezi of this project that we will use today to make our pitch at the Hub Open Accelerator event.

It would be nice to hear from you what are the thoughts that come into your head about this project? If you can think of some connections that would be useful to make for this in Brazil or in Finland, we would be glad to hear. We have been thinking a lot how to documentate and share this unique project, and a video production is already on the way. Some researchers have also showed interest towards studying our results from the pilot, and that is neat and valuable. What other communication tools might we use?
